Born in Ottawa and raised between Ottawa and Toronto, DJ Sogrates found his passion for music early, starting with the keyboard at age 15. His journey deepened in the early ’90s with the rise of four-part harmony, leading him to form the a cappella group Heart II Soul and perform with a local barbershop chapter, where he began writing and composing original music.

In 2001, he released his first LP, One Shot. One Kill., with the standout track “Give It To Me” hitting #1 on the Dance Music charts for three weeks. Over the years, Sogrates stayed active in the scene through DJing and performances at Hip-Hop Karaoke, earning a reputation for his high-energy, crowd-pleasing style.

His 2018 EP My Philosophy marked another milestone, gaining international attention and showcasing his continued evolution as an artist. Driven by a love for music that connects, DJ Sogrates continues to create and perform with the same goal he’s always had: making music he believes in—and sharing it with anyone ready to vibe.
